Renowned award-winning gospel hip hop artist Suffix is set to perform at the Freedom Festival at the Dome in South Africa on April 18, 2020.
At the Freedom Fest, young Christian adults will come together to celebrate freedom month in South Africa but above all to celebrate being free in Christ.
In an interview Suffix said Moyo reached out to him concerning the event and he expressed excitement to preach the gospel through music.
"It's great news: It's Malawi to the world.”
This is the second time Suffix will be performing in SA and said among other things he will be engaged in building relationships with other artists and some interviews.
Founder of Fresh Impressions Harold Moyo speaking on the festival from his base in SA said: “As we have freedom in our country through man's sacrifices, we have freedom in Christ because of His sacrifice."
Moyo said there will be celebration of life through art, poetry, Christian hip-hop, worship, fashion and food at the Freedom Fest because: "Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom according to 2 Corinthians 3:17b."
Explaining why they decided to bring Suffix, Moyo pointed out the artist is one of the forces in Southern Africa and he could not think of any rapper who pulls up 10,000 people on his own.
“Also, one thing with Malawi is that they have always been welcoming and been able to host and partner with us as a company and as a ministry, it’s just a sign of giving back.
“Since he [Suffix] posted yesterday there has been a lot of feedback from people asking for tickets meaning his fan base here is really strong, he is a good guy, humble and a lot of influence,” he said.
He could not be specific if they will get any other artists from Malawi as they will only have 20 artists on the roster but said if they had the capacity, they would bring in the likes of Jeremiah Chikhwaza, Liwu, Faith Mussa and Pastor David.
