Malawi’s celebrated Hip-pop artist Phyzix continues to hold the fort in the music industry following the acceptance of his music video ‘follow’ by Trace Africa TV.
The development comes after Phyzix had submitted his music video for consideration to be aired on the popular Channel.
In an email sent by Lungeko Motaung from Trace Africa TV, the video has been accepted in the development slot. The communication further elaborated the music video will be aired in the coming weeks.
“Please note that the video has been accepted” It will take a few weeks before it is aired” wrote Motaung.
Commenting on the development, Phyzix real name Noel Chikoleka expressed his excitement and conveyed heartfelt gratitude upon receiving the news.
“It’s very exciting. It’s my first video of many to be aired on Trace Africa.” he said.
Despite not being the first Malawian to have his song aired in Trace TV, Phyzix pointed out that this is a good development for the Malawi music industry. He added that it has inspired him to do more.
“It’s very encouraging for me to carry on producing high quality music videos going forward,” he said.
"Follow" which features Eli Njuchi and Macia is a song that continues to receive massive airplay since it was released last year.
It was endorsed by the minister of information, Gospel Kazako on Twitter and helped Phyzix carry awards home in last year’s UMP and Malawi Hip-Pop awards in the categories of artist of the year, song of the year, best hip-hop act and album of the year.
Phyzix has since revealed that is working on his 14th album “Flaws of Phyzix”.
