President Lazarus Chakwera's advisor on the youth and arts, Lucius Banda did not have the novel coronavirus disease as some had speculated.
His music manager Jack McBrams in an interview said he had had High Blood Pressure and that he has had the condition for the past 10 years.
“He was in hospital they tested him, its blood pressure simply that.
“He has been having these problems for like 10 years now it’s just an issue of managing it,” he said.
Banda was admitted to Mwaiwathu hospital on Monday night and has since been discharged.
He is back at his home base, Balaka to recuperate.
According McBrams he will have to stay off music until February subject to obligations and bookings.
Soldier as he is popularly known posting on his choice of interaction, Facebook, Banda said: “I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and all those caring and loving messages since i was admitted. Me and my family we are really humbled for such love. It means a lot to all of us.
"I am greatly improving and I can feel the healing power of the Most High God,” he said.
Fans have since been offering him get well soon messages.
