Entertainment outfit, Van Ngongo says its three-year contract with Afro Pop singer songbird Leslie has run out, dispelling rumours of creative differences between them.
Speaking to our entertainment desk, Chikumbutso Awali of Van Ngongo praised Leslie for being hard working and passionate about the art.
She had quite a run with the stable and put out hit songs like 'Romeo na Juliet' and 'Bambo a Teleza'.
We reached out to Leslie to highlight her plans, lessons she learnt being on the imprint and how that will help her career now that she is independent but she did not respond.
In the interview Awali said the vision of his company is to uplift up and coming artists and connect them to the industry.
"So we have done that with her so we are onto the next one."
The manager disclosed they signed Driemo last year and will be working with him for the next three years.
On sustainability of the artists when they leave the stable he pointed out they give them the tools.
"I take them through the whole process of how things are suppose to be done. And whenever they are stuck somewhere, I'm always available to help."
