Super League of Malawi (SULOM) president Tiya Somba-Banda has tested positive to COVID-19 just days after putting the league games into a three week recess.
The news follows that of another high profile football personality, Football Association of Malawi Communications Officer Gomezgani Zakazaka who on 15th January disclosed he has the virus.
In a statement to the football fraternity Somba-Banda said he is asymptomatic and will be in quarantine for the next ten days in adherence to the Ministry of health guidelines.
He has called on people he has been in contact with to go and get tested.
