Rumphi United might be inconsistent in their results in the TNM Super League but have won most of the home games, thereby producing the top goal scorer.
In the eighth week of action in the TNM Super League, Rumphi’s Trouble Kajani scored a brace against fellow debutants, Sable Farming to take his tally to six goals.
His goals pushed the Northern Region side to position 12 on the log table with nine points from nine games, and the best new entrant in the topflight league, as Dedza Dynamos are behind with eight points.
The result also piled more misery on Sable Farming, who has gone two games pointless to drop to 15th place on the log table.
Rumphi just hired another coach, Elias Chirambo after Gilbert Chirwa dumped them, and it seems little by little the team is collecting some maximum points especially at home.
“When I came, we had problems with scoring and the team had never won any match. To see ourselves producing a top goal scorer by now is an encouragement to us. It is a sign that we are improving day by day. This is a team we are just building, and we believe we can do better in our away games, but at home we have mastered the art,” he said.
According to Chirambo, the players need confidence when playing away.
Blue Eagles reclaimed their top spot on Sunday after trashing Tigers 3-0 at Nankhaka Stadium, while Nyasa Big Bullets reverted to second place despite defeating Civo on Saturday.
