Liberia's Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor is in Malawi on an official visit during which she has among other things held discussions with her counterpart Saulos Chilima.
Chilima said on his official Facebook page, that their discussions centred on improving relations between the two countries and on fostering continued cooperation within the framework of the African Union and the United Nations.
According to the Veep, Taylor has affirmed of Liberia’s commitment to restart a process of deepening the two countries' relations to continue cooperating at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels for mutual benefit of the two countries.
“I also took opportunity of Dr. Howard Taylor's visit to indicate Malawi's willingness to learn from Liberia's vibrant diaspora engagement, recognizing the fact that the Diaspora can contribute to defining their home country's value proposition and nation brand as well as the potential to play a crucial role in attracting Foreign Direct Investment,” said Chilima.
Taylor is one of few women in top political leadership positions in Africa.
