A Rumphi-based secondary school teacher Penjani Nyasulu has been found dead in the room he was sleeping in at Chancellor College in Zomba where he had been among those deployed to mark the 2020/1 MSCE examinations.
Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB)’s spokesperson, Mayamiko Chiwaya has confirmed the development saying he was discovered by a fellow teacher who went to check on him on Sunday morning.
It is reported that Nyasulu finished the marking exercise at around 9pm of Saturday and left for his room but did not wake up alive.
According to Chiwaya, the postmortem results have shown that the death was due to a rapture of veins due to high blood pressure.
“We are repatriating the remains to his home village,” she said during the interview.
Late Penjani Nyasulu hailed from Mwazisi village in Rumphi.
