Law, economic transformation good for business-NBM

National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has donated to K2 million to Malawi Law Society (MLS) for it's annual general meeting and conference at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi later this month.

The AGM will be held under the theme 'Beyond Rhetoric and Impunity: Law, Governance and Economic Transformation.'

National Bank Company Secretary and Head of Legal Services Zunzo Mitole said as a leading financial institution, they take pride in their commitment to supporting other institutions taking initiatives in the legal and governance sphere.

"We recognize that the legal profession plays a vital role in shaping the social and economic fabric of our nation, and the Malawi Law Society has been at the forefront of advocating for the rule of law, good governance, and economic transformation."

She pointed out the gathering will contribute to the growth of the legal profession.

The AGM brings together legal practitioners and other stakeholders to discuss issues affecting business nationwide. 

"We would like to reflect on a number of things, economic transformation, rule or law and governance.

"We know as a bank you are interested in all three. When there is stability in politics and other sectors, it boosts business," Ngunde said.

NBM's support to MLS goes back to 2020.
