Albino body parts found in Mulanje, Police look for suspects

Police in Mulanje are looking for suspects who escaped at a road block after being found with human body parts of a person with albinism.

Information has indicates officers were manning a roadblock near the golf club when the two unknown people tried to pass while on a motorcycle but had no helmets.

As the officers started questioning them, they immediately abandoned the bike and disappeared into the tea plantation a thing that surprised the officers. Efforts to look for them did not help as the two had fled into the night
The officers searched the bag that was tied on carrier of the motorcycle only to find that there were human body parts suspected to be of a person with albinism.

The body parts which include some legs, have been kept at the mortuary while the bike is at the Police station.

Gresham Ngwira, public relations for Mulanje Police Station said:  "We are investigating the issue to arrest these culprits. We therefore ask well wishers to feed us with information that may help track the two."

Police further wish to strongly condemn the act of perpetrating violence against persons with albnism to extent of killing them or indeed exhuming their dead bodies.
