Fredokiss bail conditions extended, to lead Mussa John parade

Musician and politician, Penjani Kalua popular by his moniker 'Fredokiss' will not miss the justice parade for Mussa John on September 22, 2022 in Blantyre.

Fiscal Police in Lilongwe on Monday extended his bail conditions to Friday, September 23 when he has to report.

Fredokiss arranged the parade trying to bring issues of injustice to light with a focus on John's case.

He was arrested, convicted and to eight years custodial sentence but later on appeal, the term was reduced to three years.

Posting regarding his bail extension,  Fredokiss told his Facebook community which boasts 350K followers cryptically using a Bible verse: "VICTORY BELONGS TO JESUS - ISAIAH 7:7#"

National Police Spokesperson, Peter Kalaya in a written response to Kulinji.com crime desk confirmed the bail extension.

Kalaya acknowledged Kalua did honour the bail condition to report to the Fiscal Police.

"Yes, he honoured his bail conditions and availed himself at Fiscal Police Offices in Lilongwe.

"We have extended his bail to Friday, September 23, 2022. This means he will come back to Police on that date."

On Friday, Kalua was arrested following a complaint that he and his two accomplices duped and defrauded Daiton Bwanamusi of money amounting to K6.3 million. 

Kalaya said they are finalising their investigations and will strive to recover the rest of the money as well as arrest his accomplices.

He could not be drawn to disclose how much they have recovered.

He explained that at this stage, he could not reveal how much has been recovered.
