Barely two days after the death of Mzuzu University Senior Lecturer, Dominic Gondwe due to COVID-19, another member of staff has also succumbed to the disease.

The deceased has been identified as Professor  Chimuleke Munthali and was working together with late Dominic Gondwe who died on Thursday.

TUniversity Registrar, Yonamu Ngwira, has confirmed saying Munthali, who was Associate Professor in the Department of 
Forestry and Environmental Management, passed away on Saturday morning at Mzuzu Central Hospital.

Ngwira said in a memo issued on January 9, 2021 that further details regarding burial will be communicated later. 

Mzuni has thus far recorded three COVID-19 cases all involving members of staff.
