The 2019 season saw Blue Eagles soar high to win the Bingu Ikhome Bonanza and FISD Challenge Cup. The cops also finished third in the TNM Super League inspired by forward Schumacher Kuwali.
In the league, Eagles were the giant killers beating Nyasa Big Bullets, Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers.
No wonder during the team's party after parading the FISD Cup in Lilongwe last week, Kuwali was named the top goal scorer in Cups after netting four in the Bingu Ikhome Bonanza and two in the FISD.
The prolific striker had just returned from Mozambican side Ferroviaro de Nampula where he played for some seasons.
Today Kuwali returns to join UD Songo on a year-long contract with the option to extend.
He is joining a colleague in the Police Service and Blue Eagles, John Banda.
Reports indicate Banda is also signing a new contract with the team today.
According to a statement by Blue Eagles media officer, Steve Kumalonje, Kuwali has wished his side all the best in the 2020 season, while urging players to be patient because everything has its own time.
"Be patient always, because another Schumacher will show up for the Eagles this coming season," he is quoted.
Eagles chairperson, Alexander Ngwala told the local media that they agreed about K8 million each for the two players.
Eagles finished third in the TNM Super League.
