Malawian-born striker, Henri Kumwenda has joined Hull City from English Premiership side Leeds United.
Kumwenda was earlier this year linked with a move to Liverpool FC from Leeds Academy where he has played since he was 11 before moving to their under-18 and 23.
Through his Twitter page, Kumwenda announced his journey to the Tigers.
“Happy to sign my first professional contract with @Hull City. Looking forward to this new chapter,” he said.
According to www.hulldailymail.co.uk, the new club is yet to confirm the details of the deal which they think will come as a surprise.
Leeds United Academy also posted on their Twitter page wishing Kumwenda the best: “Congratulations to 18 year old @HenriKumwenda on signing a professional contract at Hull City! Henri left #lufc academy this summer but has been a key player for the U18s over the last 2 seasons scoring 16 goals and providing a number of assists.”
Kumwenda did not sign with Leeds following the end of his two-year scholarship deal.
