In what may be regarded as early planning for the new 2021-2022 season, Lilongwe-based Malawi Police team, Blue Eagles has released six of its players.
According to a brief statement the team posted on its Facebook page, the six are Lazarus Nyemera, Patrick Phiri, Henry Misinjo, Mphatso Philimon, and Tonny Mbulu.
"Following recommendation from the technical panel, Blue Eagles FC has released the following players from the Club forthwith.
"We cannot thank them enough for their evident passion and dedication during their stay at Nankhaka. Wishing them all the best for the future," reads the statement.
Blue Eagles survived relegation from the Super League and recently fired head coach, Gerald Phiri senior.
Instead, they roped in Eliya Kananji to be assistant coach after he was demoted into the Reserve side by Civo Service United.
Just three days ago, the team announced that Schumaker Kuwali has returned to the team from UD Songo in Mozambique following the expiry of his loan deal.
There are reports that Kuwali's teammate, John CJ Banda might be rejoining the police side soon as his loan deal has also come to an end.
