Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve and Sable Farming FC will clash in the finals of the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) League following their semifinal victories over the weekend.
Chiradzulu-based Sable Farming were the first to reach the finals after trashing Changalume Barracks 3-0 on Saturday, while taking it to 4-0 on aggregate considering their 1-0 first leg victory.
On Sunday, Bullets Reserve thumped on Blantyre City 4-1 at Mpira Stadium, taking it to 8-2 on aggregate, following their first leg win with the similar margin.
SRFA changed this year’s format to have teams compete in groups considering time constraints due to COVID-19 break.
As usual, the winner gets promotion into the country’s elite league, TNM Super League, but Sable Farming are likely to progress even if Bullets Reserve win the title.
Bullets Reserve owners, prefer having one team in the elite league, the senior side and give it to the runners up to proceed.
Last season, Red Lions emerged champions and got promotion into the league.
But before that, Ntopwa FC finished second to Bullets Reserves, but were given a nod to join other teams representing the Southern Region.
