'Female judges are ugly' comment haunts Joshua Chisa Mbele

Social media activist, Joshua Chisa Mbele, will have to appear in court in person for the hearing of his defamation case.

Supreme Court of Appeal Justice Ivy Kamanga said she wants Mbele to face her when the state makes its application in the case where he was sued by Malawi Defence Force (MDF) commander, General Vincent Nundwe.

Chisa Mbele had earlier called female judges ugly.

Mbele's is answering a criminal defamation case after made a social media post accusing Nundwe of corruptly received money from businessman Zuneth Sattar.

Nundwe sued but that did not stop Mbele from his commentary on the case and he went as far as calling female judges ugly.

Senior State Advocate Limbikani Msiska confirmed to the media about the adjournment and Justice Kamanga's ruling.

On Thursday Justice Kamanga  adjourned the case to Friday next week as Mbele was not in the court but his lawyers.
