Two men have been arrested for allegedly fleecing six people of millions of kwachas through mobile money transfer.
Sub Inspector Foster Benjamin, Deputy PRO for Lilongwe Police Station said the suspects are Timothy Misolo and Phonex Afiki.
Misolo, a former employee of one of a network service providers, was arrested on Tuesday at his house in Mchesi while Afiki, a businessperson, was apprehended in Area 23.
Their arrest follows complaints from six people who claimed to have been duped by the duo, through different tricks they pulled off.
The duo has since been charged with fraud other false pretence, and will appear in court soon.
Meanwhile, police have warned people to be cautious when sending money.
Misolo, 26, comes from Chilimampunga Village T/A Chilimampunga in Zomba and Afiki, 32, comes from Minyanga Village T/A Jalasi in Mangochi.
