Thyolo police engages kabanza motorcycles


Motorcycle operators in Thyolo have been advised to follow all the requirements needed to enable them fully operate on the road.

Speaking on behalf of the Station officer for Thyolo police, Superintendent Joel Kachikuni clarified on the importance of registering, insuring and having driving licences for motorcycles.

Dauglous Moffati the District Commissioner for Thyolo urged the operators to adhere to the  rules governing the motorists.

"The DC's office, Road traffic directorate, the police and you the operators need to work together" Moffat said.

Also in attendance was the President of Kabanza Association in Malawi Michael Nkumba who advised his subordinates on making sure they are operating road worthy, insured and registered motorcycles and the importance of having driving licences.

He therefore schooled them on how to process licences for their motorcycles.

Inspector Dickson Liffa who is Thyolo police station traffic officer reminded the operators that the police is there to enforce the law.

Liffa assured the operators that he will work with them as long as they are following traffic rules. "Those found disobeying traffic rules the law will take its course," he warned
